Window cleaning in Lincolnshire
Windows in Lincolnshire are cleaned with filtered pure water through a pole, which is the standard for the trade and not a pressure job at all. Filtered water dries without spotting because there is nothing dissolved in it to leave behind, so the glass is rinsed clear rather than wiped dry.
How the job goes
- What gets quoted A photo of the front and back of the house is enough: the count of windows, the height and whether there is a conservatory on the side sets the price.
- Frames and sills first The dirt line sits on the frame and the sill, not on the middle of the glass, so those get brushed before the pane does. Skipping them is why some windows look dirty again after one shower.
- The glass Soft brush and filtered water over the pane, then a flood rinse from the top down. No blades on modern coated glass.
- Left to dry Pure water is left on the glass on purpose. It dries clear, which is the whole reason the trade moved away from soap and a squeegee.
What this does not cover
Internal glass is not included. Leaded lights, cracked panes and units with failed seals are cleaned around rather than worked on, because water finds a failure and nobody wants to be the person who found it. Conservatory roofs are a different job with a different method and are priced separately, and windows that can only be reached over a neighbour’s land need their permission first.
Questions about window cleaning
Why pure water instead of soap?
Because soap has to be removed and water does not. Detergent leaves a film that holds the next week of dust, and any that dries in a corner shows as a smear. Water run through a filter until it is almost pure dries off the pane and leaves nothing at all, which is why there is no wiping stage.
Are frames, sills and doors included?
Frames and sills yes, as part of the same pass — they hold most of the visible dirt. Front and back door glass is included where the pole reaches it. Garage doors, gates and cladding are not window cleaning and get quoted on their own if you want them done.
What happens if it rains the next morning?
Clean glass sheds clean rain and generally looks fine. What marks a window is rain running over dirty frames, which is the reason the frames are done first. A visit is not repeated for ordinary weather; if a shower hits mid-job and the finish suffers, the affected windows get redone before the visit ends.
